An example of 10th Mountain Division ski equipment. These skis were made in New York for the US Army (see the photo of the base of the ski for mfg info) by Artek Pascoe. They were painted white to act as camouflage during missions on snow-covered terrain. The U.S. National Ski Patrol recruited most 10th Mountain Division soldiers. Skis like these were monumental in the successful missions against the Germans in the Italian mountains. This is a very unique pair of 10th Mountain skis.
